The way pants really rip

Clothing stores have been selling “pre-worn” jeans and other trousers for a number of years.  However, the garments never seem to be realistic in terms of the tears and wear marks.  Helping a friend move this weekend came with the unexpected result of producing some “distressed” clothing of my own.

Pants Ripped

Now that’s what a real tear looks like!  Why don’t stores sell distressed clothing like this?

Note: I’ve worn cargo pants while traveling through nine countries, yet they didn’t hold up to a single trip down the stairs carrying a 27″ TV.

  1. Thanks for not posing IN the pants for this photo.

No problem Tom. It would have been much harder to get a good angle for the photo anyway if I had the pants on when I took this picture.

  3. wow, what happened there? hope your butt is still in one piece, or two pieces.

Thanks for reading and for commenting Magnus. Thanks for the concern, I can assure you that nobody’s butt was injured in the incident.

This pants-life-ending rip came from crouching down to lift one of those old heavy as anything TVs. Only 27 inches, but it must have been loaded with bricks.
