Hotpoint Cooling

Visiting a friend’s house this weekend I noticed that the brand on their refrigerator was HOTPOINT.

Seems like a strange term for a cooling unit.  The oven was also a HOTPOINT brand device, and that certainly makes sense, but I suspect a different brand name might sell more refrigerators.
