A towel of a different color

At a nice, yet affordable, hotel in Kandy, Sri Lanka, I was happy to see two different color towels in my bathroom.

Providing twin rooms with two different colored towels might seem like a small management decision, but it surely would have ramifications including ordering, sorting, re-stocking, and many other small complications added to the hotel’s to-do lists.

Most hotels I’ve ever stayed in have a uniform color for all their towels (and yes, it’s usually white).  With two guests in each room, one is frequently left to ask “Which towel is mine?”, but with two different color towels, the problem is solved.

Given that the Sri Lankan weather requires one to shower at least three times a day, always knowing immediately which towel to use was quite helpful!
