Welcome to Japan!
I flew halfway around the world to be welcomed by Coca-Cola, a company based out of Atlanta. Coke surely has this world covered.
Just arrived, it is early in the morning and I am not yet super tired, but I ought to sleep, so I am going to post later about the trip. In the meantime, I have added a few pics to my album!
Coke is everywhere! That´s for sure! It´s one of those seldome things which no matter where we are makes us feels home! 😉

When on a couple of trips to the rural corners of Rwanda, I have always been shocked by the presence of the Coke brand. Mud huts, also no real cash between all the villagers and yet still, a Coke sign hangs on the side of some make-shift shop. Forget Elvis, it’s Coke that is everywhere!
Excellent website/blog. I am looking forward to reading it. The job hunt here in the US is going alright, but I would much rather be where you are. Nice swine flu mask too. Hope you are having a great time so far.
When Raymond was living in Paris, he went to this Communist Party thing they put on periodically. He mentioned that, while there were all these red flags, a good portion of them said “Coca-Cola”. You see, the French Communist Party is the party of the unions and Coca-Cola is unionized, so Coca-Cola (among other companies) decided to purchase some goodwill by sponsoring the thing.
My comment is awaiting moderation? It’ll never happen.
I guess this just explains their tagline from a few years back, it truly is “Always Coca-Cola”.

Right you are. I can’t decide if I like it because it is a familiar face in a far away place, or if I don’t like that you can not escape it anywhere.
