Don’t Run On The Sidewalk
January 27, 2010
Here are just a couple of reasons why you don’t want to ever run on the sidewalks of Bangalore. Especially not after dark.
“Oh. I’m approaching a curb down for a drive. These curbs are a bit tall, better watch the step down. Also look out for cars. Are they coming from the left? Right?”
And then you fall into a pit! (Which you can’t see until the last second)
Or if you’re lucky, you just trip over some bricks.
Note: These pictures ARE representative of the majority of sidewalks I’ve seen in Bangalore.

Makes a good obstacle course.

@ smrg
Definitely! Assuming it’s well enough lit for one to be able to SEE the obstacles. Otherwise it’s just a series of traps!

There are also sidewalks with shaky slabs. Some of them fall off and some end up with a fractured leg. Ouch!

Oh yeah! I always get nervous when the ground beneath my feet unexpectedly gives way.
